MealEnders Review

I was lucky enough to be chosen to review a pretty cool product called "MealEnders" which helps curb your appetite especially during the holidays. I have been lucky to enjoy them and my favorite flavor has to be the cinnamon. I received 4 bags of the lozengers which took the place of wanting dessert for me after each meal. This was a nice addition to my new weight loss goal that I have been working on. I received the following flavors: Cinnamon, Mocha, Chocolate Mint and Citrus. I loved the cinnamon and the chocolate mint but was not sold on the mocha so I gave those to my mom who enjoyed them. Here is a little more information on the product:

MealEnders Signaling Lozenges are a first-of-its-kind weight management tool designed to curb overeating and teach portion control using a combination of behavioral psychology and sensory science. Free of stimulants or other harmful “diet” ingredients, MealEnders catalyze behavioral change by retraining the mind to stop eating with the eyes.

MealEnders consist of two components: a sweet, outer reward layer and a cooling/tingling inner core. The outer layer provides a measured dose of “dessert” associated with the end of a meal, while the inner core engages the trigeminal nerve (the nerve that senses “taste”) with long-lasting cooling/tingling sensations that cleanse the palate.

Sucking on a lozenge when you know you’ve consumed enough — but can’t stop — keeps your mouth and mind occupied during the 20-minute Overeating Zone, giving your body’s natural satiety process time to catch up. MealEnders are an easy, safe and sustainable way to curb your appetite.
Each Signaling Lozenge contains only 2 grams of sugar and 15 calories…and they taste great!

I plan on getting more of these after the holiday and even plan on going onto the website to be able get more for some people in my life!

I did receive this product to be able to review from SweatPink Ambassadors in exchange for an honest review!

Hiking in the Mountains!

So I am on a small vacation with Olivia and got to spend some time with Jason on Monday. We went to Luray Caverns and walked a good 1.25 miles there even though we had to stop so that they could tell us about the caverns and answer questions. Then we decided to head up to Skyline Drive in the Shenendoah Valley and check out the views and grab some pictures which we did accomplish. Then Jason decided to stop and we decided together to go on a hike to a waterfall which we never did make it to. I was doing great on the way down but regretted going down the hill afterwards because the hike back up was Ugh!!! I was sore for 2 days afterwards and could hardly move yesterday. I am thankfully back to normal and we are planning on coming home tomorrow instead of Saturday. We will stop by an orchard to grab some things from there but it will be good.

I am still debating on signing up for a 5K on Saturday. I know several people who are running in it and I think it will be fun. I am still not sure yet but I think for my racing it will help with the training of my half for next year.

Deferral on Wine & Dine 2015

So yesterday I had to "adult" up and go ahead and defer my race for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon 2015. We have things that we need to pay for and we're going to take advantage of my parents timeshare up in the mountains of Virginia this year so we decided to hold off on the race this year. I put in for the deferral last night and wasn't sure if I had gotten it but I got the email just a little bit ago and it's been confirmed. It's my first race I have ever had to defer but I am glad that I now have more time to train and I'm super excited!

Last night I went for a walk with mom and my sister's dog, Possum. It was so pretty out and cool out and loved it! We walked almost 5 miles and I wasn't hurting or breathing hard at all. I was so happy that I had walked that same spot that we tried to earlier this year and it was not pretty then. So to be able to do it in less than 2 hours I was doing good compared to last time. I think tonight I might go out again and walk again and add in some streets too. :) I'm excited too because I am also getting a reflective safety vest to try out tomorrow so that means I will feel a lot safer on the roads at night or in the morning (who am I kidding? I need my sleep!)

So I'm sure I will post that review on here later this week!

Fall is Here!

I'm so happy that fall is here! The weather has turned cooler and I'm loving it! I'm loving the fact that the rain is gone too until tomorrow and I'm seriously thinking of joining a gym. I'm not sure if I want to join the YMCA or if I want to join Planet Fitness. If I join the YMCA, then I can go work out while Olivia is at gymnastics class or I can go while she is doing something else. But if I join Planet Fitness I have to go at my own time and find some other time to go without her. That is the hardest part. I also get to join at the student rate which is nice too and I have a lot of things more to do at the YMCA.

Still trying to decide what will be a better deal for me. I want to be able to workout even when its raining and so this would be a nice thing to do for me.

Back at it!!! Finally!

So I have decided that since I didn't make my goal for the month of June or May but I have decided to try again for the month of July. I had set my goal of 30 miles for the month of July but so far I'm already at 21.1 miles for the month of July. So I have reset my goal to 60 miles! Yep, I know this is going to be an easy goal to obtain considering that I have been going out with my mom for the past several days! She has been pushing me to go and I'm glad she has been! If it has not been her pushing me then I might not be going out and losing the weight or anything else. I'm noticing that I'm starting to slim down and my pants and things aren't fitting like they used to. Yes! Something I've been definitely working on and am so proud of how it's coming along!

I will update more later but let the running and the blogging begin again! My funk is gone finally!!! Off to go for a run with mom again! Peace out people!!!

Goals for June

Ya know one thing that I have been bad at since my half marathon in February is sticking to the goals that I set for myself. I also had a hard time sticking to them before the race too but I think that now that I am losing more and more weight and am able to fit into more clothing, I am getting more confident about going out and running on my own. I want to be able to run a 10k before August 4th this summer so I need to find one that I can run. Also I have sent a goal for June this year! I have set a goal for June to run at least 1 mile a day or more! I can also walk if I need to like yesterday because my asthma was causing an issue for me but even walking it felt good for me. I like how I feel the next day when I get out and exercise! It also sets a good example for Olivia as well. This week is their last week of school and while it's all half days it's still worth it to us! We're excited about the summer and having all the fun things for us to do like next Monday heading to Myrtle Beach for a few days to go camping! Yay! I too will get out there and run! Can't stop me!!

So far in the month of June I have done 4 miles our of the 30 I want to do! I am starting my training now for the Wine & Dine so that I will be ready for it by November and will not injure myself then. I want the race to be enjoyable and not painful like my first half was! So bring it on people!

Ack...

I am officially in a funk! I feel like no matter how hard I try to start back with running something else happens within the family or me. The past two weeks Olivia has been sick and honestly it has been hard for me to get back into the groove of things this week. She went back to school on Wednesday and lets just say that while I have enjoyed her going back, I am still in a funk. We are heading to the beach this weekend for a nice little getaway and even Jason is going with us. But something tells me we are going to be not working out but for more relaxing. I just need a break! I am on the verge of having a breakdown and while most people don't know it I try to hide it, I feel like I'm breaking apart lately. I feel like no matter how hard I try to go for a run, I just don't have the motivation to do it. What is wrong with me? Why do I feel this way?

Non-Scale Victory

I like to come on here and announce little non-scale victories that I encounter sometimes. I purchased a Disney shirt from the Disney Store about 4 years ago when I first started dating my husband. It was on clearance and I grabbed what I thought was a size XXL. Purchased it, Never tried it on mind you..., took it home, washed it and then looked at it. Man it looked mighty small to be a size 2xl. I then looked at the tag and realized I had picked up a size xl and not the size I needed. Oh what was I going to do? I couldn't take it back? I had already washed it. I put it in a bag and forgot about it, thinking I would never be able to wear it.

Well it wasn't until Tuesday night just before heading out to Olivia's chorus concert that I decided to try it on. I was almost in tears! The shirt fit! It actually fit! The sleeves on it were too big! OMG! I could not believe it! Have I actually hit a mini goal of mine and that was getting into a size xl shirt and it being just a little big on me? How did that even happen? I don't know? I need to get back into my running and training but I haven't been feeling much like it since the pollen has taken over. I need to get off my high horse and just run! I need to train!

I need to find a race and just run it! I haven't really run since the half marathon and well it's a little scary since the last time I actually ran I injured myself. Will it happen again? I don't know? I guess the only thing left to do is take it easy and slow. We are headed to the mountains this weekend and boarding the dog tomorrow. It's Olivia's birthday weekend and if it's not raining we plan on taking her and her best friend hiking. This should be fun!

Haven't disappeared!

Don't worry! I haven't disappeared! I have been dealing with the pollen overload and lot's of appointments for Olivia so it's been kind of hectic on our end. I am still losing weight and when I tried on a pair of shorts that fit just a month ago, they are now way too big! Yes! I am so excited about this but sad because just 4 years ago, I purchased these shorts knowing that I would be able to wear the size 18 and I would be able to look nice when we would go on vacation. Now they fall off of me and I Need to go clothes shopping which I hate to do just before my monthly cycle because I gain like 5lbs each month. So I will wear those shorts for another week and then I will go ahead and go out and buy myself some new clothes that I desperately need.

While we were on spring break and went to Wilmington, we stopped in at a different Goodwill and I happened to find several things for Olivia to wear. In the finds I found myself a new swimsuit top and I was so surprised at the size of it. I am used to seeing a size 2xl or even a 1xl womens. But I haven't worn just an xl in many years that I never thought I would ever see that size again. Wrong! That's the exact size that I got and it looks amazing on me! So I now have a new top to wear when we go away for Olivia's birthday next weekend!

Tomorrow I will be getting a lot of exercise since we are heading to the NC Zoo with the 5th Grade class for the field trip! I plan on taking my garmin watch with me to see how far we walk that day! It should be an interesting day that's for sure! Monday is my appointment with the GI doctor to see the plan about possibly going Gluten Free since I found out that when I was younger I wasn't allowed to eat wheat or bread because of the issues it caused my stomach and intestines. Hmm...makes me wonder if this is the same thing happening to me now.

Have a great Thursday everyone! I will update tomorrow after the trip!

Princess Half Marathon Part 1-Getting Ready & Start Line

It was the morning, race morning on February 22, 2015! My alarm went off at 3:00am and I was up out of bed full of excitement! I couldn't believe it was the day I had been waiting for. It felt like I was getting married that day but instead I was following one of my dreams...to become a half marathoner! I was to run the race I had dreamed about running for years and after so many people told me I couldn't or it wasn't a good idea.

I soon got dressed, did my hair, decided to put a few extra clifshot gels in my pockets and eat my breakfast before leaving to catch the bus at Port Orleans Riverside. I thought I was running late so I jogged a bit to head to the bus. Now that I think about it, it may have not been the best decision but it was alright! I would be fine for the race. We watched as the first bus became full and we watched that bus move on along. Soon it was time to load up the next bus and I grabbed a window seat. Another nice runner sat next to me and we talked for the 40 minutes it took to get to the parking lot of Epcot. So glad I met her and hope she did good during the race. Once unloaded at Epcot, we walked on over to baggage check and the only thing they had to check was my SPIBelt that was holding my Epi-Pen in it. I got the OK to go through with no issues. I am so glad I had that with me and I had a bottle of benadryl with me as well. I then decided to head on over to the Port-a-potties and I swear it took forever just to go! Holy smoke! I thought I would never get through that line! The race had already started when I got on over to Corral L. Thankfully they had just let some of the corrals go and mine was still not up yet.

Corral L was a good place to start at but I am hoping that I will be able to get to a different corral for my next race!

I was so excited to be starting my journey into my runDisney running fun and I was going to have fun while at it. I never knew that it was going to be a good journey for me. We could hear the excitement of each corral that was setting off on their journey for the half marathon and soon it was our turn up at the start line. Eekkk! Was this really going to happen? Was I really going to do this? I was beyond nervous and excited all at the same time. I was even getting a little teary eyed because it was overwhelming to me as well.

And I even took a selfie showing my excitement before getting ready to start the race.

But not only did I get that but I even got a small video of the start for us! It was happening! We were starting!!! OMG! Really?

And we were off! Our time for the official clock starting for us was at 6:16am. I started off with a small slow run and was having the time of my life! Let's do this race!

Goals & Dreams

One of my goals that I have made for myself is to run more for 2015! So far I have only run 1 race and I just got cleared on Friday to start running again by the doctor. Such good news there. But I have also made other goals for myself as well. I have set goals like signing up and running the Wine & Dine at Disney World in November which I will complete this year. But my main goal is to do the Dopey Challenge in January of 2016.

The Dopey Challenge is where you will run 4 races in 4 days. These races will include the 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and Marathon. I actually told Jason that I wanted to run the Goofy Challenge which was just the Half and Marathon but after talking more about it I thought to myself, I am going to do that then why not go the whole way! I mean it's just adding two more races to the mix of things! I know I can do it. I have to start training now for it and I know that I can do it! If you can put your mind to something then you can do it! I believe it will be just before classes start too for me so that will be an added bonus for me as well! I won't take Olivia out of school for this race of course and this will be most likely me going down by myself for these races. I may just while at Disney in September upgrade my tickets to an Annual Pass since I will be going to Disney a lot for these races. I am excited about my goals and dreams that I have.

2014 was a great year for me but I can tell that 2015 will be a even better year. I have already started it by just completed the Princess Half Marathon and I want to complete the Wine & Dine in under 3 hours! That is another big goal I have for myself. I will begin my training again on Tuesday which I am very excited about doing.

Dinner before the Half Marathon!

For dinner the night before the half marathon, I decided to head to the resort and check out what they had. I decided on doing the Create Your Own Pasta and so glad I did too.

I went over and stood in a line that I felt was neverending. It didn't take long to get up to the counter but man it felt like it at the time. I soon ordered Fettichine noodles, with marinara sauce. And choose chicken, garlic (the lady was going to give me a huge scoop and I told I wanted only a little bit), mushrooms and tomatoes to put in my sauce. They soon had it cooking up for me and soon it was ready for me to go pick up my drink and my dessert. I soon paid for my meal using a meal credit and then found an area for me to sit. The food court was pretty empty and I had no trouble finding a place to sit. I found a seat near a window looking out at the water.

My pasta dinner

Jason's Dinner
Soon Jason decided to get the same thing for dinner and he chose chicken alfredo and picked up a cheesecake and a drink. I am so glad that we had saved one of our meals from Friday so that we could use it for lunch and still have a credit for dinner. I can't believe that after starting on my pasta meal I have to say I ate just about all of it. It was so good and this is something that I would definitely get again from Port Orleans Riverside. I soon headed to the room to take a shower and to get some of my things put together. I also before leaving the food court decided to get a "Runners Breakfast" and paid $7.49 for it. I am so happy that I got it. Made life a little easier the next morning!

I also laid out Flat Charlotte before heading to bed. That way it would make life a lot easier the next morning too! I'm so glad I did as well. Felt like I was actually prepared for the race for once! Yay!

Dinner at The Plaza Restaurant at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

We had dinner reservations over at The Plaza Restaurant on Friday, February 20th and here is the review on the food and service.

Around 6:15-ish so we headed on over to The Plaza Restaurant to see if we could get seats before our ADR at 6:35pm. Before we got there I had to snap a quick shot of the Castle at Dusk!!! So pretty!!!

We then headed on over to The Plaza Restaurant and checked in. They made it known that we were early and there was no guarantee that they could get us in beforehand. By this time we were around 15 minutes early. We were handed a pager and told to go have a seat outside and we would be ready when the pager came started to buzz. I really wanted to come back with a smart butted answer to the girl but I bit my tongue and walked off with the pager. We got to people watch for a few minutes before not too much time had gone by of when the pager went off. I want to say about 5-10 minutes. People watching is always fun at Disney World! It's so funny to see what people are wearing or what they are saying. I do happen to do this while at Walmart too...I may add to the fun too at times!!! :rolleyes1

We handed over our pager and made our way inside. We were seated towards the back where all the windows are and the emergency door is. Great seat to watch the sun setting and to take random pictures of the castle..like this one.

So we got the menu and ordered our drinks. I ordered a Coke & Water (bad idea with the water..it tasted horrible!) & Jason had a Coke!

Menu shots!

When our waitress came back to take our order I ordered the Grilled Ruben and Jason ordered the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger. We patiently waited for our food and soon it had come up. The issue we had with our waitress is she would disappear for a good long while before ever bringing back our refills on our soft drinks. Ugh. I hate when this happens too! Irritates me and sometimes they will know because I will tell them.

My Ruben was amazing and when we come back in September with the family and our best friends we WILL be eating here again! Jason said that his burger was amazing too and he would definitely order it again! He said that my sandwich looked better though...I'm guessing it was the 'kraut! Next up we had dessert and we ordered something different so we could sample each others! I ordered the Banana Split and Jason ordered the Brownie Sundae. They both were huge and neither of us could finish either one! I felt kind of bad for wasting food but honestly I ate my entire sandwich and fries and I was stuffed by the time I took my 5th bite of the dessert. We asked for our check and left a tip. I really wanted to leave her a tip on how to not disappear and to bring back refills when you said you would bring them back. Instead I had to ask the manager for a refill because she never brought one to be and it had been a good 20 minutes. I was thirsting to death people!

Total cost for the meal was $52.66 and we left her a $6 tip. I would have left her more if she was more efficient in bringing me my refills in a timely manner! We thankfully didn't have to pay the $52.66 because we had the dining plan so we just left the tip for her on the magic bands instead.

Birthday Weekend

Yesterday was my birthday and so what a better way than to spend it with my best friend and her family! We have known each other for almost 10 years now and it's like we are practically family so going to the beach for the weekend was nothing for us. It's just a hop, skip and jump for us to go there too!

I wasn't planning on running while I was there but I did a little bit of jogging while there. We took the dogs for a walk on Saturday and took the girls up to the neighborhood park to play. We did a good mile and let's just say I was still wanting to go more but the kids looked like they were going to die!!! It was so funny! I have to say that I love the neighborhood that Tonya lives in because it's so big, yet so peaceful to be able to run in. I wouldn't mind getting up everyday to run in the neighborhood! Lot's of friendly people too! Now if I can only get my husband to agree on the move then we would be down there in a jiffy. But I guess now is not the right time!

I will be uploading my workouts from my Garmin onto the connect soon but until then, I might go for a 3 mile walk tomorrow if it doesn't rain! I'm praying it doesn't rain! I so need the walk and I might do some running while I'm at it. I feel lost since I haven't ran since the race. Who knew I'd get addicted to such a fun sport and intriguing sport! Bring it on!

Princess Half Marathon Expo

I think now that I've been home for a week, it's time to go ahead and write up a little something on the Princess Half Marathon Expo. With it being my first race, first half everything I wasn't quite sure as of what to do as far as the expo goes and what all I wanted but after seeing the Dooney & Bourke design this year, I actually wanted one. I'm not a hog for those things but let me say that some people are. That's a different story on that one and how I figured that out.

So we headed on over to the expo after checking into Port Orleans Riverside which is in the Epcot area and I was so excited to be heading to get my packet information and all that. I had already printed my race waiver but when we got there I realized I had left it in the room. Whoops. My bad. I kind of panicked a bit but was reassured that I could print one off there at the expo which was wonderful. I don't know of any other races that will allow you to do so before the race and while picking up your race information. I soon grabbed a picture of myself by the runDisney Princess 1/2 Marathon Banner and soon was making my way on into the building.

After going down the stairs to get to where you would go get your race packet, I had to stop off at the computers and print my waiver and sign it. Next time I'm putting it in my purse instead signed and all. :) Then I headed on into the room where I stood in line to get my race bib, information, commemorative pin and event guide. I was so excited. I then signed for it and showed my Photo ID. Thankfully I had just gotten that in the mail with my correct mailing address so that was perfect timing.

After that I headed over to the runDisney Official Merchandise Booth where I was hoping to score myself a D&B Wristlet, and a "I Did It" Race Shirt but I didn't grab either one. Nope...couldn't find either one. Apparently there were mugs too that were sold out as well. I was a little disappointed in not being able to grab what I wanted but I did grab a car magnet so that worked out well.

Then went on over to the Josten Building to pick up my race shirt and gear check bag and then to see what all the other vendors were. I knew that I wanted to check out Sparkleskirts and I wanted to get some more KT Tape and some more Margarita Clifshot Bloks. But that was it...or so I thought. I ended up checking out a few skirts but they unfortunately didn't have my size and so I just decided to wait to get them. It's no problem for me to wait right? Maybe or maybe not. Haha. Then I walked around a bit and got in line to get a free banana but then when it was my turn they decided to take a freaking picture with the chiquita lady. No thanks I wanted the free freaking banana!!! I got out of line and continued on my merry little way. Then I came across the Sweaty Bands Stand and had to check them out. I had heard of them before but had never tried them out before. I found one that would match my costume perfect for the race on Sunday and asked Jason if I could get. Of course he said he didn't care. I always ask even if I know what the answer will be because I'm not the one who is making the money. He is.

Soon we made our way around the building and we were able to purchase 2 of the clifshot bloks that I wanted and some more KT Tape that would stay on my legs more than a freaking day! Holla! That's exactly what I needed! I also tried some of the clifshot gel while there and fell in love with it. I had tried GU Gel before and honestly hated it so this was a refreshing way to find out that I loved Clifbar's better!

Soon we made our way out the door of the building and we headed on over to Magic Kingdom where we had Dinner Reservations at The Plaza Restaurant. Yum! A Favorite for us now!!!

Clifbar Review & Giveaway

Before we left for our Disney Racecation I received a nice sized box from Clifbar of Clifshots & more! I reached out to the company to be able to do a review on their product and they were generous enough to send me a wonderful collection of their Shot Bloks, Clif Shots and Hydration Shots. I was more than impressed with the amount that they sent me and I waited until the race to go ahead and use them. I figured that I would be able to really put them to the test for that weekend.

So fast forward a few weeks and it was race weekend. I packed up everything that I had in that box into my bag and it was time to set off to head to Orlando, Florida! I was ready to go ahead and get a headstart on trying out these amazing products. I had already tried the strawberry clif blok before and loved it. But after trying the margarita one it soon became my favorite one and I had to grab several more at the expo to get me through the race too!!! That one became my lifesaver for the race because it helped me not get any cramps which for me was amazing! I normally get severe cramps in my legs and sometimes in my feet and this go round I did not! Amazing!!!

I also tried several of the shots which I have tried before the GU Gel's and I honestly hate the way that those tasted so I was a little hesitent in trying these out. I tried the Razz out at the Expo and was plesantly surprised that I liked the taste and the texture so when picking out what I was going to take with me on the run Sunday I chose the Razz and a few others like the Mocha and Cherry Chocolate. Very good! I didn't have any of the hydration shots while running but I did have them as recovery while I was walking the parks on Sunday and it was nice to be able to get those going. Gave me energy that I just didn't have. I highly recommend using these when training, running, or just on the go!

Clifbar was so generous to send me several and some that I would never use so I want to share with two readers! I will send two readers each a ClifShot Gel and a Hydration Shot! See the Rafflecopter Below:

Leaving Tomorrow!

I can't believe it's finally here! The Princess half Weekend has finally arrived and it's hard to believe it! Wow! It seems like just yesterday that I decided to sign up for the race and yet on Sunday I will be running the race!!!

We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside in a Royal Room Garden View and we have gotten 3-day Park Hopper tickets. I can't believe that it's finally here! I'm still in awe and still in disbelief.

I have charged my watch all up, I am finishing up with my homework and I am packing as well! I'm hoping to be finished with the majority part of my homework tonight and then all I will have to do is my exam on Monday when we get back in town. This should be super fun! We have Advance Dining Reservations already made and we will be enjoying our time at The Plaza Restaurant tomorrow night for dinner, Boma for Breakfast on Saturday and Cape May Cafe for dinner on Sunday. We will get some quick serve meals as well while there.

When the race is complete and I'm back I will do a write up on the Expo which I'm excited about going to. I'm hoping to get a few things from there and then I will be doing a write up on the half.

Who else is excited about doing and running the race?

Gigabody Review & Giveaway Opportunity!!!

With the running that I have been doing and yet it's still been pretty nasty outside lately, I've had to be resourceful and do some indoor activities as well. I was lucky enough to have been chosen to review a great online exercise video regiment called "Gigabody". Gigabody.com is a great new way to be able to workout to videos such as cardio, dance, and strength training. These videos have been helping get ready for the princess half marathon I'm getting ready to run and I'm so happy I was able to be able to do a 2 month free trial thanks to SweatPink! Without this amazing site I wouldn't have been able to strengthen my core some compared to how I was before watching the videos.

The videos are easy to do and some are difficult to do. I can say that I am so happy that I was able to find this service. The price to be able to join is $8.99 a month and for me that's doable considering I don't want to join an expensive gym around town. I would rather do these videos at home and be able to go shower immediately after in my own shower rather then a shower in a gym. Yes I have issues with that at times. I do admit it there. This site also has yoga, sculpting, kickboxing and so much more which is even more exciting for me. I have found that the yoga has helped me with stretches in my hips for running. Yay!

Now here's the kicker..(no pun intended here)...I am giving away to one lucky winner a 1 month Trial Subscription! Enter in the giveaway tool below:

Giveaway has Ended!

"I was given a 2 month trial subscription to Gigabody from Sweat Pink to be able to facilitate my review. My review has all my own opinions on how I have felt about the product."

Funk

So lately I've been in a funk. I haven't been running like I should and I need to get cracking! The race is just a month away from today and honestly I hope that I can finish the race. I feel like this funk has just put me in a mood that I don't want to be in. I don't lately want to run and yet I still want that medal so badly it hurts. Yeah I know it's crazy.

So I have been thinking...what if I had a running buddy? What if I did decide to join a gym just for a month to train? Would it be worth it? I don't know if it would or not. I am excited about the friends and new people I will get to meet and yet I am still nervous too. I think all of this goes along with it being my very first race. I was going to run in Rocky Mount but I am still not sure about it. I want to spend time with Olivia and Jason on that day so we shall see.

But thinking of what songs to put on my playlist got me thinking...one of the songs that I love to listen to while running is "Shake it Off" by Taylor Swift. That song is so catchy and honestly I have been known to stop dead in my tracks and dance to it as well. Yeah I love doing that. So what is something that you like to do while you run? I wish I had a treadmill here so that I could go ahead and run right now while I'm somewhat out of my funk but I might go for a quick little run later. We shall see how I feel that is.

Clean Eating: Eat at Home 1

So since my weight loss is going good so far and I have been working hard on continuing on losing I decided that I better keep going. And the only way that I will be able to continue is to not eat out all the time. I told Olivia this past week that if we cooked at home all week that I would treat her to eating out on Friday. Well I did exactly what I said I would do. I treated her to McDonald's for dinner! I ate a vegetable soup instead for dinner and it was very good!

My weight loss goal is getting closer and closer as I continue on my journey. Not only will I continue this journey on my own but I will continue to do it by trying to eat clean and eating at home. I have tried several recipes that I normally wouldn't try on my own and they all turned out being awesome! I even made up a few of my own and wow is all I can say! They turned out great!

Tonight's dinner is going to be clean greek chicken and I found the recipe on pinterest of course. We love getting ideas off pinterest and being able to try different recipes off there. This one was really easy to make and I only used 3 chicken breasts instead and will be making quinoa noodles instead of regular noodles for dinner. It's a change and I'm looking forward to that change. I picked up the noodles at Whole Foods when we went a few weeks ago. They looked good and I will have to let you all know how they taste.

Here are what a few of the dinners that we have had the past week look like. Enjoy!

Cinderella's in the House!!!

So here is my costume for the Princess Half Marathon!!! I'm going as Cinderella!!!

WDW Marathon Weekend & Dopey Challenge

This weekend has been the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and Dopey Challenge! I am so happy for my friends who have accepted the Dopey Challenge and just completed it today! I am so proud of them for doing this challenge because not only is it a big challenge to take on but it's something that one day I would love to do.

The challenge that I am speaking of is the Dopey Challenge. With this challenge you have to complete the following races in order to get your Dopey Challenge medal: 5K, 10k, 1/2 Marathon and Marathon. All these races have to be completed in order to receive your medal! I would love to do this of course with my husband but he would have to start to run in order for us to complete this together. Maybe one day I can get him to commit to run. Just haven't gotten him to commit just yet. I need to get to running now because the weather is only going to get colder and nastier this week. :( I'm not looking forward to it.

I thought about joining planet fitness but the problem with joining planet fitness is I have to drive to town and honestly I don't feel like driving to town half of the time. I normally don't go to town unless I have to. Yes that's lazy or that's smart to save on gas. We are also looking into purchasing a treadmill for me to be able to train at home. I only wish we had a home that had a basement because then I could go to the basement and train right there and it wouldn't matter what I looked like. I am still self conscious about myself and I'm working on that but for now I will continue to be self conscious.

I do however need to go to Walmart to get some running tights to be able to run in outdoors. I need something warmer than what I run in. What do you suggest?

Milage for the Month Goal

So with it being a new year and a new month, I have decided to start with a goal and keep it. No more I am too lazy to run or anything. Unless it's thundering out and then I won't run outdoors! Sorry but I refuse to be struck by lightning in the south! But I have made a goal of running 50 miles this month. I have already done 3.5 miles even though the picture above says 3 miles. I did another half mile and just never posted it on there. But I plan on going on a 3-4 mile run tomorrow. Yay! This should be fun! I have never done a run that long before so this should be interesting for me indeed. Let's see how I fare tomorrow. But what are your goals for the month? Are you keeping up with what you run or walk?
