So this past Wednesday I finally went to a new Primary Care Doctor after not being able to get into my current doctor that I have for months if I ever got sick. Plus I have been telling my doctor for almost a year that I have been hurting like my joints and muscles have so much pain in them I can't take it anymore. He just told me "Diet and Exercise and to stop being so lazy," and I was done with him the last time I went. I was just waiting for our new insurance to kick in to go to a new doctor.
Well I finally went and I love my new doctor! He reminds me very much of a doctor back in Fayetteville and I liked that doctor there. I talked with the new doctor about my concerns and he too agreed that something wasn't right. I gave him my family history and after looking me over he decided to do lots of blood work and also to send me to a specialist for my joint pain and muscle pain. The one bad thing about having so much pain is not sleeping well at all and well he told me that running was not allowed. This kind of got to me a little because I have a half marathon coming up in November that I was going to start training for. I guess I will be walking it instead this year. Boo! I kind of was looking forward to signing up for the Princess Half and Glass Slipper Challenge in July but that looks like I'm out too! :( Maybe I can sign up for the Star Wars Half in April. That would make my day! Or at least just do the 10k instead. As much as I'm a little bummed about not being allowed to run, I'm just happy my doctor is allowing me to walk. I might hurt when I get done, might not be able to move or get up in the morning but it will be worth it. I know I can do it and I am going to have to push myself no matter what.
So as much as there was a lot of negativity in this post, I'm just thankful that I have a doctor who is listening to me and realizing that something is not right with my body. Praying for some answers when I go back in July!

Back at it!!
I'm back at running or at least walking now! I feel like I have been slacking this past winter and have been needing to get back out there sooner than I now but at least I have decided to do it now! I decided this past week that no matter how much I was overweight and how slow I am, I wasn't going to let that slow me down! I wasn't going to let that stop me from continuing my journey.
I am going to continue is going to walk and attempt to run and is going to try to blog more about my journey no matter what. I have prayed about my journey and how it has been going and no matter how it has been going, I seem to give up just when I seem to get to a point to where I am doing good. I have a primary care physician that doesn't seem to care to help me in acheiving my weight loss goal and has given me a piece of paper to go by but says that I should eat what is on that paper but when you are allergic to just about all of the items on it what do you do? How do you eat healthy when you can't eat what is on the paper? You can't eat fish because you're allergic to it...You can't eat the fruits because you're allergic to most of them and a lot of the veggies too. So frustrating to get shot down when you go to the doctor and tell him that your joints and muscles hurt all the time and you need for him to check your vitamin D and he tells you that you are nuts and there is no reason to check it even though in the past you have a vitamin d deficiency. Just is heart breaking to see a doctor you see who doesn't care about his patients at all! I am however going to make an appointment with a new doctor this week to get seen and get help! I am going to make an appointment with a specialist to get seem about the muscle pain and joint pain that I have had for years and have been told it's because of my weight but I know for a fact that it's not because of that! It gets worse when I workout or when I sit for a period of time. I look like an old person in the mornings getting out of bed. Haha.
But for now, I'm going to focus on getting my life back and work on getting my health back to where I need to be! I am going to work on getting where I need to be to be able to run this Half Marathon in November! I continue to sign up for them even though my body hurts and aches because it gives me motivation to continue to go and not to let that slow me down! I won't let whatever is going on with my body slow me down! Even if I do have asthma! Now let's bring this Half Marathon Training on this summer!!

Went Running Again! Finally!
I finally bit the bullet again and went running and walking again last night. Now it wasn't in the proper shoes but it was nice to get out and enjoy the warm weather and enjoy the running again. It was quick short sprints in flip flops but it was fun. I was pushing my 1 year old nephew in the stroller and I enjoyed myself. I did a little over a half mile last night but I did well over my steps for the day which is what I wanted to do for several days now. I have been keeping track of my calories and what I have been eating via MyFitnessPal. I have cut out all soda and am so proud of myself too. I have officially been soda free for a week now and can't be any happier for myself. I have been drinking sweet tea but that is about it but not too often. I have found a new drink called bai and love it but sticking to water mainly for me.
I plan on getting a small run in later on for me and or walk in and that is about it. :) Time to get my training in for the Wine and Dine Half now!

Down 5lbs!
I have been eating better now for almost 2 weeks and I am officially down 5lbs! I have quit eating sugar and feel so much better too. It's amazing how much better you feel after stopping something you have eaten all your life. I have also been soda free for 4 days now as well. My doctor changed the dosage of one of my medications and sodas unfortunately have taken a beating to my tastebuds. They taste either flat, like drywall or like I'm licking a ashtray. So yeah, I'm not drinking soda again! It's a good change though. I did find a good few drinks though and really like them. One of them is called PACt by Ocean Spray and the other is bai which I love! I love them both so much that I went back to Target today and got more!
I am very proud of my progress so far and I will continue to lose weight and update my progress.

I haven't gone away...just making some changes!
I feel like I have neglected this blog for the past few months way too long. I have been dealing with life in general and have been having a bit of a pity party for myself. I haven't been writing because I have been saying I've been busy with school and more but honestly I have been pretty lazy lately. I have gotten off of eating healthy in result causing me to gain a good 10lbs and I am not happy about it. I haven't gone outside to run because I keep coming up with excuses as of why I can't. That's enough of that. I've done it way too long and my success has been too good to give up now! I signed up a few weeks ago for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon and I am excited to be running it. I have also made a commitment to run the Glass Slipper Challenge in February as well and am looking forward to signing up for that. I am hoping that I can be successful in whatever I do. I plan on finding a few races to run before my race in November so that I can also have a good time to turn it in for the GSC!
So today I started back to eating healthy again. I went grocery shopping and spent enough money on food and I am pleased to say I'm excited to get started back up. I also purchased a Ninja for myself and love it so far. I plan on making oatmeal pancakes in the morning and using the blender to make them. If they turn out as good as the recipe makes them sound then I will post that on here. We had chicken kabobs from Whole Food Market tonight for dinner, along with some corn and water. I have been soda free for 2 days now and feel pretty awesome! I might have been really cranky today but if you are around me please know it's not your fault...it's because I'm not drinking soda! I'm almost addicted to it so it needed to go!

MealEnders Review
I was lucky enough to be chosen to review a pretty cool product called "MealEnders" which helps curb your appetite especially during the holidays. I have been lucky to enjoy them and my favorite flavor has to be the cinnamon. I received 4 bags of the lozengers which took the place of wanting dessert for me after each meal. This was a nice addition to my new weight loss goal that I have been working on. I received the following flavors: Cinnamon, Mocha, Chocolate Mint and Citrus. I loved the cinnamon and the chocolate mint but was not sold on the mocha so I gave those to my mom who enjoyed them. Here is a little more information on the product:
MealEnders Signaling Lozenges are a first-of-its-kind weight management tool designed to curb overeating and teach portion control using a combination of behavioral psychology and sensory science. Free of stimulants or other harmful “diet” ingredients, MealEnders catalyze behavioral change by retraining the mind to stop eating with the eyes.
MealEnders consist of two components: a sweet, outer reward layer and a cooling/tingling inner core. The outer layer provides a measured dose of “dessert” associated with the end of a meal, while the inner core engages the trigeminal nerve (the nerve that senses “taste”) with long-lasting cooling/tingling sensations that cleanse the palate.
Sucking on a lozenge when you know you’ve consumed enough — but can’t stop — keeps your mouth and mind occupied during the 20-minute Overeating Zone, giving your body’s natural satiety process time to catch up. MealEnders are an easy, safe and sustainable way to curb your appetite.
Each Signaling Lozenge contains only 2 grams of sugar and 15 calories…and they taste great!
I plan on getting more of these after the holiday and even plan on going onto the website to be able get more for some people in my life!
I did receive this product to be able to review from SweatPink Ambassadors in exchange for an honest review!

Hiking in the Mountains!
So I am on a small vacation with Olivia and got to spend some time with Jason on Monday. We went to Luray Caverns and walked a good 1.25 miles there even though we had to stop so that they could tell us about the caverns and answer questions. Then we decided to head up to Skyline Drive in the Shenendoah Valley and check out the views and grab some pictures which we did accomplish. Then Jason decided to stop and we decided together to go on a hike to a waterfall which we never did make it to. I was doing great on the way down but regretted going down the hill afterwards because the hike back up was Ugh!!! I was sore for 2 days afterwards and could hardly move yesterday. I am thankfully back to normal and we are planning on coming home tomorrow instead of Saturday. We will stop by an orchard to grab some things from there but it will be good.
I am still debating on signing up for a 5K on Saturday. I know several people who are running in it and I think it will be fun. I am still not sure yet but I think for my racing it will help with the training of my half for next year.
